Now the People is a European Alliance uniting La France insoumise (France), Podemos (Spain), Bloco de Esquerda (Portugal), Enhedslisten (Denmark), Vänsterpartiet (Sweden), Vasemmistoliitto (Finland), Die Linke (Germany) and Sinistra Italiana (Italy).
On 16 February, in Copenhagen, we gathered with other parties including Dei Lenk (Luxembourg), EH Bildu (Basque Country), Esquerra Republicana (Catalonia), the Galician Nationalist Bloc (Galicia), Sinn Féin (Ireland), Razem (Poland), Mozemo (Croatia), New Left (Greece) and Budoucnoct (Czech Republic) to discuss our priorities for the European elections on 9 June.
Together with popular movements, we fight for social and climate justice, solidarity, equality and democracy in Europe. We embody the main counter force to austerity and liberal policies imposed by the right-wing for decades. We fight for a Europe that puts people’s needs before the interests of multinationals. A Europe for the many, not for the few.

March 15, at noon, upon the historic mobilisations against policies that destroy the planet, countries of the alliance Now the people have launched a common campaign for climate and biodiversity on social media with the hashtag #Nowthepeople. It was a perfect opportunity to publish the European allies’ common demands for climate and social justice as part of the european elections : – An european green deal – An international court of justice for climate – The end of free-trade agreements – The end of public subsidies for fossil fuels – Energy and water as common goods.
Tax evasion is the cancer of modern societies. Our budget for ambitious environmental and social policies are shrinking because of it. It is time to take back what is ours.
